MEMEstreets (Now four years old!), features photographs of ephemeral art (graffiti, cryptic markings, and found art, both deliberate and accidental), discovered in the San Francisco Bay area and documented with my trusty Nikon digital camera. New photos are posted erratically, but I shoot for Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Nebbish figure in undershirt painted on the metal doors of a clothing store on Market Street in SF. The awning is rolled up during business hours, so this figure can only be seen very late at night to about eight am in the morning.

update 4/17/11: After being there for many years, this painting was removed about a year ago. Belatedly, I’ve learned that the painter’s name is Barry McGee.
