A step simpler on the evolutionary scale than Ray Harryhausen’s giant hextapus, as seen in the film, “It Came From Beneath the Sea“. The story goes, two tentacles were lopped off because Ray only had the budget to animate six, turning a loss for Giant Monster cinema into a gain for sushi lovers. Mmmm – latex nigiri!
